Charcopy
You rarely need special characters – but when you do, you need them right now. And then you can’t find the character you’re looking for. So quickly google “copyright” and copy … Sound familiar?
With Charcopy, you can search for special characters and copy them to the clipboard with a single click. No googling around, no tedious searching on the keyboard – simply find the right character quickly and continue working.

Why we built the tool
The idea for Charcopy arose from an everyday moment of frustration: you are writing a text, need a rare special character – such as the typographically correct quotation mark or the copyright symbol – and then spend precious minutes looking for it somewhere. You often end up on Google, copy it from a Wikipedia page or have to click through character tables. This unnecessary interruption disrupts the workflow and costs time.
Especially in our work with design, text and web projects, small obstacles like this crop up regularly. We wanted to create a solution that is so quick and easy that you can use it as a matter of course. No login, no setup, no distractions – just a tool that does exactly what you need at that moment.
Charcopy was created with the aim of eliminating everyday points of friction. It is intended to be a silent helper that delivers exactly what you need with a single click – no more and no less.
Why the tool is important and practical
Even if special characters seem like a marginal topic at first glance, they are of great importance in many contexts: be it in typographically clean design, in legal texts, in scientific papers or in marketing. A correctly set “-” (dash) or a “©” instead of an improvised (c) makes a visible difference – and looks more professional.
However, these characters are often difficult to find. Keyboard shortcuts are not always intuitive or work differently depending on the system. And who wants to memorize Unicode codes? Charcopy takes all this off your hands and offers a reliable, immediately accessible solution.
The tool is particularly practical on mobile devices. One tap is all it takes and the character is in the clipboard. No key combination, no app – just tap and paste. This makes Charcopy suitable for quick use on the go as well as for the daily workflow on the desktop.
How the tool works
Charcopy is deliberately kept minimalist: After opening the page, a list of frequently used special characters is displayed. For targeted searches, there is an input field where you can type in terms such as “copyright” or “arrow”. Charcopy then suggests suitable characters.
A click (or tap) on the desired character immediately copies it to the clipboard. You can paste it directly into your text editor, email draft or social media post. No thinking, no looking it up – just copy the character and move on. This keeps your focus exactly where it belongs: on the content.
