Our commitment for WordCamp Europe 2025

We have been involved in WordCamp Europe as an agency since the first edition in Leiden (Netherlands) in 2013 – and 2025 is a very special year: For the first time, WCEU will take place in Switzerland, more precisely in Basel, from June 6 to 7.
We’re really excited because we’re not just there as participants:
Two people from our team are on stage this year to give a talk, and I (Velthy) am part of the organizing team. That’s why I’m very pleased to present Karin and Jeff’s two talks here:
Headless WordPress
This presentation sheds light on the development of a cantonal career choice portal in Switzerland – from the design considerations to the technical implementation. The first part deals with the challenges in UX design and the conceptual decisions in the development of a platform for a public institution.
The second part explains how this user journey was technically realized with the help of WordPress as a headless CMS and the REST APIs. The presentation is supplemented by practical insights and learnings that make it easier to get started with your own headless projects and help avoid typical stumbling blocks.

Accessibility in reality
Accessibility should be incorporated into the design of modern websites from the outset – not only because it is a legal requirement for many projects, but also because an accessible website offers a better experience for all users. This presentation uses concrete examples from the daily work at our agency required to show how accessibility can be implemented in practice.
Techniques, helpful tips and small adjustments with a big impact are shown. The focus is on the new website of Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council, which was launched in 2024. The project was supported by the “Access for All” initiative, which campaigns for digital inclusion. The presentation makes it clear that accessibility is not an obstacle, but an opportunity to create better websites for everyone.

WordCamp Europe is one of the world’s largest WordPress events – and definitely a highlight for anyone who works with the CMS, wants to network or simply be inspired. It takes place over two days (plus Contributor Day), but you can also attend for just one day.
Over 1,000 people have already registered and with the publication of the line-up yesterday, there will be even more.
Click here for the official schedule – we have already marked a few exciting talks for ourselves that we are particularly looking forward to!
Oh yes: The ticket is super cheap at EUR 50 (especially for a conference of this size) – and it’s worth it in every respect.
If you come by, be sure to say hello!
We look forward to seeing familiar and new faces, good conversations and a great time with the community.
