A Fresh New Online Presence for Sprachkind
If your job is to create clarity, your own website has to deliver on that promise more than most.
For Sprachkind, Linda Nussbaumer’s communications consultancy, that’s exactly what we built: a fresh, clearly structured website. Because the site should feel the way Linda’s own work does: uncluttered, clear and to the point.
Background
We’ve worked with Linda for years. She writes copy for required, and we’ve teamed up on all sorts of projects. We built her first Sprachkind website a good while ago, back when WordPress was a different beast: we had to model a lot of the content with custom fields and custom functions, because the native tools just weren’t up to it yet.
The block editor has since grown into a proper tool. So when Linda wanted to refresh her website in 2026, the brief was clear: a fresher design, more white space, a tighter structure. And above all, a backend she can handle herself, without us inventing a custom solution every time.
A fresh design built around the essentials
The new design leans on plenty of white space, understated typography and colors that feel welcoming without shouting. Making complex content easy to grasp is Linda’s core business, and the website now mirrors that approach. Every section has a clear job, headings guide you through the content, and nothing competes with what matters most: Linda’s work, her references, her voice.

Performance you can measure
With performance, we weren’t chasing rough targets but measurable quality. In the Lighthouse test, the site scores 100 points each for Performance, Accessibility and SEO on desktop. That’s no accident, but the result of careful work from the very first commit: right-sized images, lean code, no superfluous scripts, and a theme we built entirely in-house. Anyone who’s tried to retrofit an existing site to hit these scores knows the truth: it’s far more work than getting it right from the start.

What the updated website delivers, at a glance
- The website communicates Sprachkind’s positioning more clearly.
- It’s easier to maintain.
- It loads quickly and is accessible.
- It’ll stay maintainable for the long haul.
- It looks more polished and professional.
From custom fields to native blocks
The real technical heart of the project was the backend overhaul. The new website is far easier to maintain: content can be created, moved and reused right in the editor, with no custom fields or technical workarounds. What used to take custom fields, custom content types and bespoke functions now runs on native blocks in the WordPress Block Editor. It might sound like a small thing, but it makes a world of difference day to day.
For Linda, that means she sees exactly what her content will look like as she writes it. She can shift sections around, reorder them and reuse her own templates. No more bouncing between editor and preview, no guessing what some special field does. And for us, it means the site stays close to the WordPress standard, which makes maintenance, updates and future additions far simpler.
Collaboration as equals
Working with Linda is refreshingly straightforward. She knows how we work from earlier projects, and we know her standards for language and impact. That shaped the whole process: ideas were dropped quickly or pursued in earnest, with no long detours. Linda’s own instinct sharpened the result too, not just in the copy but in the design decisions.
Conclusion
The new Sprachkind website is a good example of what happens when you stop nursing an old solution along and deliberately bring it up to date instead. Fewer custom builds, more standard tools. A cleaner design, easier maintenance, a fresher feel. And for Linda, the right digital home for a consultancy built on exactly that kind of clarity.
